ICT & Educational
System of Bangladesh
At present ICT is bringing the human
society forward through technology. It saves time and makes
distance closer. Our country has become more modernized at
the touch of Information & Communication Technology. Yet
Bangladesh has remained behind. Nevertheless Bangladesh has
tried to improve in it.
Though the women of the whole world have kept special roles
in ICT, women of Bangladesh have little opportunity for
advancement. The condition of education in Bangladesh is so
decrepit. After visiting some of our instructions the
information that has been collected about our educational
institutions and ICT.Here we need more teachers and change
the syllabus of computer subject.
Now it is the time of information and technology. There is
no need to say how computer plays an important role in ICT.
Most colleges of Bangladesh teach the computer education but
it is not a complete job. At present like other countries we
need the internet connection at every college and school. As
a student of Siddheswari Girls’ college I think to improve
us at technology and information, we badly need the
connection of internet at every college and of skilled and
experienced teachers on it.
We can say more, Khilgaon Model College has only one
computer for its students. With it how it is possible to
teach the students. The students cannot get this computer
subject, though they have interest. And also there is no
interest to the teacher of this college to teach the student
about technology.
As a student of Alatunnesa School & college, hurt me that
there is no expert teacher on this subject. The students are
taught by unskilled teachers who may be of math or other
subjects and teaches the students while taking course from a
training centre. In several schools, there is the same
condition. That’s why women students are not able to know
about technology.
Dhaka University is known to all by one name. Today three
courses are in ICT major:1. PGDIT, 2. MIT and 3. fundamental
course. The students, who in computer, have some good
knowledge in it. But in some interviews, we find that some
women students don’t know the fundamental course of
computer.
Some girls use the Cyber Café of Dhaka University but they
don’t know the basic knowledge of computer. They need
interest to gain knowledge of computer because they can
focus our country to the world.
In the training centres of our country, we find there is
some kind of lacking, for example we say that lacking of
teachers, computer and care. In the government schools and
colleges of our country, computer studies should be
compulsory for every student if we want to progress in the
case of technology. All students should have the
opportunities to study the subject.
There is the problem at the root of our institutions. If we
want to know the world, technology and to make communication
need to remove the defects that are the obstacles on the way
of going forward. The government should take the immediate
and proper measures to spread out the facilities, proper
knowledge and build skilled teachers about it.
