 I
am Marry Marak. I am 23 years old. I have studied up
to class-10. I appeared in the SSC examination but I
could not pass in the SSC examination as I was weak
in English. I am youngest child of my birth family
among four sisters. I was living with two elder
sisters and one niece in Dhaka. After coming to
Dhaka I took training on Beauty parlor and before
coming to Nari Jibon I used to work in a beauty
parlor. Then I used to receive 2500 taka per month
as salary.
I have heard about Nari Jibon office from my niece
who was living with us and known to a Nari Jibon
staff named Ripon. I was appointed at Nari Jibon as
a service staff in November-2005 and my salary was
held 3000 taka per month. After coming to Nari Jibon
office I got a great scope to develop my life. I was
weak in English. As Nari Jibon used to provide
English classes for students and staff, I started to
take English class besides my initial
responsibilities at office. I completed several
English courses and I have participated in every
English class for practicing more.
I also
started to learn computer. There was an opportunity
for every staff to take alternative skill at 5.00 pm
to 6.00 pm every day. One staff will teach another
staff which she/he knows well. I also used to learn
computer. In the mean time I have completed MS
office course and I used to practice almost every
day. While I was learning skill at Nari Jibon office
I planned that I would develop my career taking
skills from Nari Jibon office.
Now I am
able to read and write English well. My vocabulary
is also developed. I also learned computer Ms Office
course successfully. At the beginning of
February-2007 I faced an interview to take job at
UNDP- Kumilla office as a receptionist cum customer
care. I was selected for the post. I have to join
there 1st March 2007. I have already
informed to the Nari Jibon authority about my job.
I am
pleased with Nari Jibon Office for providing skills.
I shall try to keep in touch with the Nari Jibon
Office.
